Power. Precision. Performance: Three words characterizing the attitude behind the next generation of Bantam reels. Equipped with Shimano's Infinity Drive technology to provide anglers with unsurpassed reeling force, engineers designed the new Bantam for the power game.

Attack thick vegetation, flip big jigs, burn 1-ounce spinnerbaits, or scour the depths with large crankbaits without resistance or hesitation. Built upon a one-piece aluminum CoreSolid Body, the Bantam provides anglers a solid in-hand feel and the confidence they need during hard hooksets while delivering the power required to yank fish out of the thick stuff. Now featuring Shimano's MGL Spool III with a decreased startup inertia, the Bantam enables anglers to cast further while providing them with the added versatility to fish a variety of baits and presentations.

A reel with a reputation for toughness just got even stronger and more versatile: Don't shy away from heavy cover, expansive weed mats or thick hydrilla — step up your Power Game with the next generation of Bantam.

Infiniti Drive is Worth It

This new Bantam is pretty amazing.. I did not think Shimano could improve on an already impressive Bantam MGL but they did with the new Infiniti drive. The new gearing results in shimano buttery smoothness with the Daiwa effortless feel. This model's body size also feels slightly longer than the MGL version. The only con I can think of is that the braking system remains Shimanos SVS infinity where the Zillion has Magforce Boost (which is quite impressive). This new bantam is very very rigid similar to the MGL and metanium. This reel can muscle the largest fish from the nastiest cover. You won't regret this purchase. Also the team at ALFC is THE BEST in the industry. They treat you like a valued customer and not just an atm. I know if I have any issues I could call or email them and it would be resolved asap. They really go the extra mile to provide a better shopping experience. The trade program is great and was how I obtained the new bantam. It's always easier to explain to my wife that I sent items out for the ones that come back and spent no additional money!

Somehow it’s better

Comfortable, powerful, smooth and capable of anything. Not only does it look good but it is incredibly smooth as expected and casts a mile. It really is a must have for anything powerfishing and deep cranking. Shipping was amazingly fast as usual and ALF’s customer service was top notch as usual.
