The handle can, will, and did break.
It breaks right where the handle meets the knob.
Just take a look at how tiny that area is.
Good luck getting it replaced.

I got this to use as my nicest rig.
This is a above average spinning reel.
good reel for the price. it is not a top-of-the-line super smooth great above average high end reel. But it is better than average super great starter reel. And if you would like to know what i think of Americanlegacyfishing they are one of the best l have ever dealt with, great customer service, plus sale staff is top off the line.
This review is more about American Legacy than the product. Although, the reel is amazing, but the American Legacy is even better. Options are endless for buying fishing equipment these days, but American Legacy is in a class alone. If they don't have a product (which is rare) they can and will get it. They happen to be headquartered in my home town so I will always support them, but they make it easy when their pricing is better than you can find anywhere on the internet. They are simply THE BEST. I have purchased equipment from Amazon, Bass Pro, Cabelas, Tackle Warehouse, Midway USA just to name a few. American Legacy puts them ALL to shame.
